Baroda Maharani Sita Devi's jewels in Sotheby's London auction

Jewels once owned by Maharani Sita Devi Sahib of Baroda is now put up for sale by auctioneers Sotheby's in London on July 16.
A cigarette case, a turquoise and diamond ring and a woman's diamond cocktail watch, all dating from the 1960s and purchased directly from Princie, Sita Devi's son in the 1970s has been listed for sale in the "Fine Jewels auction."
The rectangular case of basket weave design, applied with the Baroda Arms, set with circular and single-cut diamonds, measuring approximately 125mm by 88mm by 10mm, signed by French jeweller Van Cleef and Arpels has an estimated price of Rs 3.93 lakhs to Rs 5.90 lakhs (4,000 - 6,000 pounds).
A turquoise and diamond ring also by Van cleef and Arpels set with a cabochon turquoise, within an open work surround decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds has been estimated to fetch Rs 4.91 lakhs to Rs 6.88 lakhs. (5,000 to 7,000 pounds).
The third piece on auction, a lady's diamond cocktail watch by Piaget with its oval dial applied with Roman numerals and baton indicators, within a frame of brilliant-cut diamonds, to a textured bracelet, length is estimated between Rs 2.95 lakhs to 3.93 lakhs (3,000 - 4,000 pounds).
The three lots with provenance to Sita Devi is part of the total 476-lot auction with pieces signed by leading makers such as Cartier and Giuliano. The auction also features pieces with prestigious provenance and replicas of the Crown Jewels.
