Baroda pip Saurashtra by 3 runs in Vijay Hazare thriller

Baroda today pipped Saurashtra by three runs with a ball to spare in a thrilling west zone leg match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, here today.
Batting first, Baroda scored 268 for nine in 50 overs with Hardik Pandya scoring 64 and former India U-19 Deepak Hooda contributing 53.
In reply, Saurashtra were all out for 265 with a ball to spare as their batting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara managed only 21. Opener Sheldon Jackson contributed 82 off 78 balls with 10 fours and a six while Jaydev Shah (38), Chirag Jani (34) and Arpit Vasavada (39) all got starts but failed to convert.
In fact Saurashtra were firmly in sight of victory when they were cruising along at 251 for six with 18 runs to get of 16 balls.
However they failed to reach home losing four wickets for 14 runs in a space of 14 balls. Lukman Meriwala bowling his left-arm seamers polished off the tail finishing with 3/37.

Saurashtra 265 all out 49.5 overs (Sheldon Jackson 82, Cheteshwar Pujara 21, Lukman Meriwala 3/37).
