"The Indo-Russian joint project on the topic - Fast Neutrons as a probe for Elemental Analysis, Nuclear Reaction Studies and Cross Section Measurements - has been jointly sanctioned by the department of science and technology and RFBR to the Baroda varsity and BHU," N L Singh, Dean, Science faculty, MSUOB told PTI today.
"The objective of the project is to get improved nuclear data with less associated errors for the purpose of preparation of shielding, building and coolant materials in the development of new generation reactors in order to contribute towards the achievement of more nuclear power," he said.
"Well-known faculty members from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan (West Bengal) and Kolkata-based Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics will also be involved in the project," he said.
