Base metals advance on good demand, global cues

The industrial metals gained at the LME over investor offtake after US deal on fiscal disaster continued to support prices.

Nickel rose further by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,115 from Wednesday's close of Rs 1,110 and Copper sheet cutting went up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 471 from Rs 468.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, brass utensils scrap, aluminium ingots, zinc and lead all inched up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 496, Rs 486, Rs 475, Rs 449, Rs 524, Rs 322, Rs 147, Rs 148 and Rs 129, respectively.
