Base metals advance on rising industrial demand

Most of the base metals advanced at the non-ferrous metal market here today on buying by stockists amid rising demand from industrial users.
While, nickel, brass and zinc prices declined due to subdued offtake from alloy industries.
On global front, the industrial metal copper slipped in early trade, a day after logging its biggest one-day gain in a month after hopes China would roll out more stimulus sparked a volley of short-covering.
Copper utensils scrap rose by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 366 from overnight level of Rs 360.
Tin and copper wire bar climbed by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,165 and Rs 432 from Rs 1,160 and Rs 428.
Copper cable scrap and copper armiture gained by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 404 and Rs 388 from Rs 400 and Rs 384.

Copper scrap heavy and copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 396 and Rs 383 from Rs 393 and Rs 380, respectively.
Lead edged-up by a Re per kg to Rs 126.
However, nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 860 from Rs 865.
Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 293 and Rs 305 as against Rs 295 and Rs 303.
Zinc softened by a Re per kg to Rs 160.
