Base metals end mixed, tin firm up on sustained demand

Base metal ended mixed at the non-ferrous metal market here today on alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Tin prices firmed up further on sustained demand from alloy industries.
At the global market, London copper slipped in early trade, to near its lowest in a week on indications factory growth in top metals consumer China shrank in December for the first time in seven months, further curbing investor appetite for risk.
Tin climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,505 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,500.
Brass utensils scrap rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 327 from Rs 324.
Copper scrap heavy, copper sheet cutting and lead inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 465, Rs 448 and Rs 133, respectively.
However, aluminium ingots moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 174 as against Rs 176 yesterday.
Copper armiture, copper utensil scrap, brass sheet cutting, aluminium utensils scrap and gunmetal scrap all softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 449, Rs 427, Rs 337, Rs 135 and Rs 397.
