On the global front, industrial metal copper was little changed in early trade at the LME, though a weaker dollar cushioned prices that had been undermined by sluggish Chinese demand.
Nickel slumped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,020 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,030 and tin dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,360 from Rs 1,365.
Copper armiture declined by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 427 as against Rs 431 yesterday.
Copper utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting fell by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 408 and Rs 325 from Rs 410 and Rs 327 yesterday.
Copper scrap heavy and brass utensils scrap also softened by a Re per kg to Rs 434 and Rs 316, respectively.
