Base metals firm up on sustained demand

Most of the base metals firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on good stockists buying amid sustained demand from industrial users.
Overseas, base metals prices on the LME were higher in early trade, after data showed China's economy expanding at 6.9 per cent.
Tin surged by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,080 from Monday's closing level of 1,070 and Nickel climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 715 from Rs 710.
Copper scrap heavy and Zinc edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 366 and Rs 143 from overnight level of Rs 364 and Rs 141.
Copper cable scrap, copper armature, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting and lead inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 371, Rs 360, Rs 342, Rs 399, Rs 358 and Rs 124, respectively.
