Base metals gain on renewed demand, global cues

Most of the base metals, including copper, tin, nickel select aluminium and brass, recovered smartly at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amidst renewed demand from industrial users.
Brass utensils scrap declined owing to lower offtake from consumer industries.
The industrial metals climbed in Asian trade buoyed by prospects of further economic stimulus in China and technical buying after prices broke through a key chart level.
Nickel surged by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,210 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,200 and tin spurted by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 1,595 from Rs 1,587.
Aluminium ingots advanced by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 155 as against Rs 151 previously.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting all moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 483, Rs 475, Rs 463, Rs 511 and Rs 460 from previous closing level of Rs 481, Rs 473, Rs 461, Rs 509 and Rs 458, respectively.
Brass sheet cutting inched up by Re per kg to Rs 353.
However, brass utensils scrap slipped by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 329 as compared to Rs 332 last weekend.
