Base metals rebound on industrial demand, global cues

Base metals prices rebounded at the non-ferrous metal market here today on fresh stockists buying following good demand from industrial users on the back of global cues.
Globally, the industrial metal copper rose on volatile early trade, extending a short-covering rebound from six-year lows hit the day before as signs of stabilisation in China's share markets soothed fears of a widening market rout.
Tin spurted by Rs 30 per kg to Rs 1,125 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,095 and copper utensils climbed by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 388 as compared to Rs 380 previously.
Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper wire bar and copper sheets cuttings shot up by Rs 7 per kg each to Rs 429, Rs 414, Rs 449 and Rs 407 respectively.
Copper scrap heavy climbed by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 421 as against to Rs 415 and Nickel went up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 900 from Rs 895 previously and brass sheet cuttings rose by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 309.
Zinc edged up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 170.
However, lead softened by a Re 1 per kg to Rs 127.
