The industrial metal rose at the LME to its highest in more than three months on growing hopes over the European Central Bank will be unveiling a new plan to combat surging borrowing costs in indebted euro zone states.
Copper sheet cutting and brass sheet cutting climbed by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 465 and Rs 330 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 461 and Rs 326.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar, brass utensils scrap, and aluminium utensil moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 486, Rs 478, Rs 514, Rs 321 and Rs 117 from Rs 483, Rs 475, Rs 511, Rs 318 and Rs 114 respectively.
Copper armiture edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 470 and copper utensils scrap, aluminium ingots and zinc all inched up a rupee per kg each to Rs 443, Rs 144 and Rs 136.
