Base metals remain up on positive global cues

Base metals prices strengthened by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today in line with a firming global trend.
Traders said besides firming global trend, pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market mainly kept base metal prices higher.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery added 0.6 per cent to USD 4,471.50 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 343 and Rs 821-826 per kg respectively. Lead ingots, lead imported and zinc ingots also enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 80, Rs 86 and Rs 92-98 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 92-98, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 821-826, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 343, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 80, lead imported Rs 86, aluminium ingots Rs 144, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 140, aluminium wire scrap Rs 140 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 138.
