Traders said apart from a firm trend overseas, uptick in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market mainly helped rise in base metal prices.
Globally, nickel for three-month delivery rose 0.4 per cent to USD 11,450 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 358 and Rs 807-812 per kg respectively.
Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported also enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 110-116, Rs 91 and Rs 97 per kg respectively.
