Base metals strengthen on increased demand

Select base metal prices rose by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today following increased demand from consuming industries coupled with higher global cues.
Traders said apart from increased demand from consuming industries, a firm global trend mainly led to the rise in select base metal prices.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months added 0.8 per cent in the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 380 and Rs 857-862 per kg respectively. Lead ingot and lead imported were also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 80 and Rs 86 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 98-104, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 857-862, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 380, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 80, lead imported Rs 86, aluminium ingots Rs 155, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 151, aluminium wire scrap Rs 151 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 149.
