Base metals strengthen on rising demand, global rally

Most base metals strengthened further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on rising demand from stockists and industrial users amid strong overseas trends.
Nickel prices shot up by Rs 13 per kg to Rs 728 from Wednesday's closing of Rs 715, tin climbed by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,320 as against Rs 1,310 and copper utensils scrap firmed up by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 353 as compared to Rs 347 yesterday.
Copper armiture, copper wire bar and copper sheet cuttings rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 374, Rs 416 and Rs 368 as against Rs 370, Rs 412 and Rs 364 previously.
Copper scrap heavy moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 381 from Wednesday's closing price of Rs 378.
Copper cable scrap, brass sheet cuttings and aluminium ingots edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 386, Rs 288 and Rs 138 as compared to Rs 384, Rs 286 and Rs 136 previously.
Brass utensils scrap, aluminium utensils and zinc inched up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 280, Rs 116 and Rs 169, respectively.
