Base metals surge on rising demand

Most of the base metals surged at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist buying amidst rising demand from industrial users.
Nickel climbed by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 785 from Saturday's close Rs 765.
Aluminium ingots and tin rose by Rs 10 per kg each to Rs 150 and Rs 1,340 as compared Rs 140 and Rs 1,330 previously.
Zinc gained by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 182 from overnight closing level Rs 178.
Copper cable scrap, copper utensils and copper wire bar moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 379, Rs 340 and Rs 407 as against Rs 376, Rs 337 and Rs 404 previously.
Copper scrap heavy and copper armiture edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 373 and Rs 362 from Rs 371 and Rs 360 respectively.
Copper sheet cuttings, brass utensils scrap, brass sheet cuttings and lead inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 355, Rs 270, Rs 276 and Rs 135 respectively.
