Base metals weaken on sluggish demand

Most base metals weakened further at the non-ferrous metals market here today due to buying by stockists amid sluggish demand from industrial users.
Nickel dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 720 from Thursday's close Rs 730 and tin declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,310 as against Rs 1,315 yesterday.
Copper armiture and aluminium ingots edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 366 and Rs 140 from yesterday's close of Rs 368 and Rs 142.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar, brass sheet cuttings, aluminium utensils and lead softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 379, Rs 374, Rs 407, Rs 283, Rs 117 and Rs 134 respectively.
