Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has recorded hydro power generation of 6,408 million units, up by 14 per cent over the target given by Central Electricity Authority (CEA) during last six months ending September.
CEA had given the target of 5627 MUs.
"This feat was facilitated by highly motivated manpower coupled with optimal maintenance practices and water reservoir operations leading to effective utilisation of inflows," said a BBMB release.
It further said BBMB recorded 10-26 per cent higher power generation on annual basis against the target set by CEA during the period 2010-2014.
