The umpires' workshop will be held in six batches in Chennai starting on August 24 while the match referees' workshop will be held in two batches in Nagpur beginning September 5.
BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur said the umpires' workshop will have sessions on suspect bowling action.
"The BCCI is committed to eradicating the suspect action bowling from Indian domestic cricket. Educational workshops regarding the same have been planned at SRMC, an ICC accredited Biomechanical Bowling Action Testing centre in Chennai, where the umpires will witness the practical testing of bowlers live under the guidance of Mr. Simon Taufel," Thakur said in a release.
Thakur said he hoped the elevation of S Ravi to the ICC Elite panel will motivate other Indian umpires to achieve further excellence and progress in their careers. He promised complete support from the BCCI to help the Indian umpires achieve their goals.
