"BCCI always has been keen on having academy set up in Bengaluru as the weather in Bengaluru is favourable all through the year and that suits all sports and training," Shah said in a press release issued by the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) here today.
On May 29, an NCA board meeting was held in Bengaluru where the NCA indicated shifting of the academy from Bengaluru as the Karnataka Government had not taken decision on the BCCI's demand for land.
"NCA can remain in Bengaluru if Karnataka Government provides land by June 30, 2016," Shah was quoted as saying in the release issued today.
Shah also welcomed the Karnataka Government's recent action. "It's a positive sign that the state government is coming forward to allot land for the academy after making academy wait for more than six years," Shah added.
