The staff of Block Development Office today staged a protest within the office premises here demanding the arrest of former MLA and five others, who allegedly assaulted BDO and other employees of the department.
The protesters, who also went on a pen down strike, demanded arrest of former MLA Rakesh Pathania and fire others for allegedly attacking the office and assaulting BDO and other staff yesterday.
The employees threatened to go on an indefinite protest if the accused persons were not arrested.
Police yesterday booked Pathania and five others for allegedly assaulting Block Development Officer (BDO) and two other employees in their office.
A large number of people led by Pathania along with relatives Vinod Kumar, an employee of watershed project, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the forests ten days ago, protested in front of the BDO office against the failure of police to arrest the culprits and allegedly went on a rampage.
The employees alleged the ex-MLA of trying to influence the police probe and assaulting government servants on duty.
