Chairing a meeting of DCs and SPs here, Hooda said they should hear the public daily in their offices for at least one hour and stay in villages for at least a day in a month so as to redress their grievances promptly and understand their problems and local issues.

In case they themselves are unable to meet people because of any pressing engagement, they should make an alternative arrangement to hear them, the Chief Minister said.

Taking a serious view of complaints of non-availability of officers and officials in offices and institutions including teachers and Patwaris, he directed them to ensure their presence.

Hooda suggested Chief Secretary P K Chaudhery and Financial Commissioners to be in touch with DCs through video conferencing.

Referring to the issue of power, he directed the Power Utilities to ensure adequate supply of electricity.

He also directed the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police that in view of monsoon, they should be prepared with flood protection measures and contingency plans.
