Beautification drive to boost tourism in J-K: Minister

To increase the number of visitors, Jammu and Kashmir government is keen to ensure beautification of parks and other spots as the tourism industry contributes to major chunk of the state's economy.
"State government is keen to ensure beautification of parks and other spots to further raise tourists influx," Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma, said today.
Sharma inspected the various ongoing developmental works and instructed the executing agencies to complete the projects within the stipulated time frame.
He directed the officers of Flood Control department to direct their field functionaries for timely completion of protection wall and steps along Chenab River at Dusserha Ground Akhnoor.
