Bedi denies AIADMK MLA charge of blocking RO plant inst'lation

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today denied an AIADMK MLA's charge that she blocked a scheme to install a RO plant in his constituency and urged elected representatives not to spread misinformation without checking the facts.
"I deny the allegation.The file for installing the Reverse Osmosis plant sanctioned by the Centre under AMRUT is being processed by PWD in the wake of serious concerns some NGOs and members of civil society expressed on tenders floated for it's installation", she told reporters here.
Bedi urged elected representatives not to spread misinformation without ascertaining facts and not also link Raj Nivas in their complaints of delay in execution of plans.
"Raj Nivas is open for all and those having any complaint can approach mefor clarificationto avoid misleading information," Bedi said.
On the charge of Vayyapuri Manikandan, representing Muthialpet constituency, she said the file pertaining to the plant was not pending in Raj Nivas
She said a joint meeting of officials of PWD, Smart City Mission and AMRUT and also representatives of NGOs was held in Raj Nivas on May 20.

Four major points emerged and these were to be included in the fresh and revised plan to install the plant. These were exploration of the feasibility of supplying purified water from the plant without mixing it with existing higher PPM content, Bedi said.
She said the Centre had sanctioned three RO Plants under AMRUTMissionfor Puducherry with an outlay of Rs 14.08 crore.
Asked what was the way out for Puducherry to be relieved of the current tussle between her and the government, she said "Let us ask the Almighty. I am here for a temporary period, but my intention is to make Puducherry the best administered'.
On the allegedregistration here ofa luxury car by a film actressto avail lesser tax benefit, she said she had seen the report in a Tamil daily today and immediately asked the Secretary to Transport Department, the Transport Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police to go into the matter.
