Bedi orders CID probe into a privately institution

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today directed the CID police to probe into the working of a private vocationaltraining institution here and ascertain its bona fides.
There were complaints from students of the institution that the institution's certificates were not recognised in job market.
She wanted the CID to keep close vigil generally on all private vocational training institutions to ascertain their bona fides.
A preliminary inquiry recently had confirmed that the institution was not affiliated to any national or state council, AICTE or Tamilnadu Technical Education Department.
The institution had its registration only as a 'shop and establishment'.
Criminal action should also be taken against such unregistered institutions, a release from Raj Nivas said.
