Behnam will preside over the chamber for one more year.
IFCCI represents around 550 leading Indian and French companies with an aim to promote the strengthening of business relations between India and France.

With over 1,000 French firms in India, France is one of India's top economic partners with investments of close to 20 billion euros and is forecasted to invest 1 to 2 billion euros on a year on year basis.
India recently inked a 7.87 billion euros (approx Rs 59,000 crore) deal with France for purchase of 36 Rafale fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear weapons and equipped with latest missiles that will give the IAF greater "potency" over arch rival Pakistan.

The Rafale combat aircraft will be manufactured by French aviation company Dassault.
Behnam was elected at IFCCI's 39th Annual General Meeting attended by Alexander Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India.
Set up in 1977, IFCCI is the official bilateral chamber fostering business relations between India and France.
