Belgian delegation explores potential of smart tech

A seven-member Belgian business delegation met industry representatives here to explore the potential of smart technologies during its two-day visit to the city.
The delegation, as part of Urbanisation Series 2016 Mission, focused on exchange of innovative ideas and solution to tackle challenges in the area of urban development.
Belgian representative held one-on-one meetings with industry captains organised by local chapter of CII, the chamber said in a release.
The B2B meetings provided a platform to understand strategic benefits and assessed synergies towards partnership, besides other collaborative opportunities in the areas of technology driven governance, infrastructure and software development etc, between both the nations, the release said.
With Coimbatore being selected as one among the first set of Smart Cities in the country, Indian and Belgian companies can collaboratively work together on their common strengths on various smart initiatives, it added.
The chamber claimed that the meetings offered an opportunity for local companies to partner and enhance value by providing implementation, localization and customization services.

With many of the Belgian companies having their presence in India already, it was an advantage for domestic companies to easily collaborate with them, CII said.
Organisations part of this delegation include Credendo Group (Export Credit Agency), Famoco (Android based NFC devices), Macq (Electronic and Computing-Processing Solutions), Real Impact Analytics (Smart City Analytics Applications), among others.
Representatives from KGiSL Ltd, Salzer Electronics, MindSpark Technologies, Angler Technologies, Kondass Automation, Nizan Robotics were among those who interacted with the delegation members, the release said.
