Belgium will soon extend its visa application centre services to six new places in India, taking the total number of centres in the country to nine.
Belgium has decided to extend its visa application centre services to Chandigarh and Kolkata in Northern India, Chennai and Hyderabad in Southern India, and Ahmedabad and Pune in Western India.
The existing counters are in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
"Catering to the growing demand of Belgium-bound travellers in the region, this strategic move is aimed at offering new services, facilities and benefits to visa applicants, and boost tourism, trade and investments, and bilateral ties with India," Belgium Embassy's commercial partner VFS Global said in a statement.
All applications will continue to be assessed and processed by respective Embassy of Belgium in New Delhi for Northern India, and Consulate General of Belgium in Mumbai for Southern and Western India, it said.
