The 20-year-old diva's mother and brother have all been diagnosed with the same disease, which can cause a range of health problems, including arthritis and heart failure.
Hadid says its discovery was the "hardest time" of her life, reported Femalefirst.
"I couldn't get out of bed for six days. And my brain would get all foggy, and I couldn't see. That was the hardest time of my life," Hadid told Net-a-Porter magazine.
The model, who dated singer The Weeknd for two years before their split in November 2016, says she is now focusing on her professional life.
