BEML sets target of Rs 3,000 crore revenue in 2017-18
Press Trust of India New Delhi Defence PSU Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) today signed an agreement with the defence ministry for production of various weapons platforms for the armed forces in 2017-18, setting a revenue target of Rs 3,000 crore for the year.
The annual memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Ashok Kumar Gupta, Secretary Defence Production, on behalf of the Ministry and CMD of BEML D K Hota.
The MoU outlines targets on various performance parameters for the company during the year.
"The revenue from operations has been targeted at Rs 3,000 crore, which is 16 per cent increase over the previous year," the defence ministry said in a statement.
BEML manufactures and supplies to armed forces various ground support equipment such as high-mobility trucks, vehicles for missile projects, tank transportation trailers, mine ploughs, snow cutters and aircraft weapon loading trolleys.
The company also plans to take up overhaul and upgrading of battle tanks with a view to assemble and roll out the products.
