The West Bengal Assembly will take up for discussion the West Bengal Goods and Services Tax Ordinance in its coming session prior to declaring it as law.
The ordinance was passed in the Assembly on June 24 after the state government decided to take the ordinance route to implement Goods and Services Tax.
State parliamentary affairs minister Partha Chatterjee said that the ordinance would be laid in the House on August four and a discussion would be held twice on August seven and August eight.
According to Assembly sources, after it is discussed in the Assembly it will be passed as law.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier criticised the "unnecessary hurry" in rolling out the GST, describing it as another "epic blunder" by the Centre.
The monsoon session of Assembly will begin on August 4 and continue for two weeks till August 17.
