Bengal Chamber partners IGCC to support MSMEs

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Indo German Chamber of Commerce )IGCC) have signed an MoU for setting up a Centre of Excellence for the MSMEs in West Bengal by identifying technology partners and skill development from German experts.

"In order to increase our export potential, the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector in West Bengal will need access to cutting edge technology and continually upgrade the skill and Germany has the strength to give this technological expertise and skilling services," Bengal Chamber president Indrajit Sen said in a statement.

The Centre of Excellence will provide much-needed fillip and confidence to the MSME sector to scale up trade from the state and it is our first initiative towards industrial resurgence in Bengal, he said.

Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of MSMEs & Textiles, launched the Centre of Excellence web-portal www.msmesupports.com.
