"We are organising health camps, giving special focus on vaccines, like Hepatitis B and C, and are regularly taking stock of things," she said while inaugurating a three-day conference on "fight against Hepatitis", organised by the Liver Foundation and Birstol-Myers Squibb Foundation.
The conference, to be held from November 4 to 6, will witness experts speaking on how to build a Centre for Excellence in order to combat Hepatitis and Diabetes.
"West Bengal believs in looking at the country from its rural backyards and our endeavour for capacity building of the rural health care providers and been consistently supported by BMSF... We are not integrating these rural healthcare workforces for empowerment and awareness campaiigns in West Bengal and Jharkhand," Liver Foundation said.
Also present on the occasion, BMSF Foundation President John Damonti outlined the need to pay attention to diseases Hepatitis B and C as it had the potential of becoming a major health outbreak.
