"I had asked Malda superintendent of police Jayanta Kumar Pal to personally visit the spot and arrest the accused. He has not done so, nor the police from the nearby Ratua police station took any step," she said recently.
The victim, a resident of Baldiapukur village, was allegedly raped at knifepoint on August 2 when she was alone in her hut, sources said.
The woman and her husband met Mitra after they were not allowed to lodge an FIR at Ratua police station following the incident.
