"We will write letters to all the MPs of the state seeking their demands and wishes," new Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told reporters here, dismissing suggestions that Bengal projects would take a hit with Trinamool Congress' exit.
The remark of Chowdhury, a known detractor of the West Bengal Chief Minister in state politics, comes in the backdrop of the Railways announcing today to start 16 new passenger service this month across the country, three of which would benefit West Bengal.
While an express train would be introduced from Barrackpore to Azamgarh, Railways would run two new passenger trains from Adra to Asansol and from Adra to Bishnupur.
Chowdhury said they would not make any distinction among political parties or MPs while inviting them to the flagging -off functions of these trains.
Soon after assuming charge, Chowdhury had reviewed all Bengal rail projects announced during the last three years in the state during the tenure of Trinamool Congress representatives at the helm of the ministry.
There were about Rs 60,000 crore worth projects announced during the UPA-II rule by Trinamool Ministers Mamata Banerjee, Dinesh Trivedi and Mukul Roy in the last three years.
