At noon the supply position is near normal, a top official of the West Bengal Power Distribution Company Ltd today said.
The official said currently the power plants were generating close to 2000 MW and the production could be peaked to 3000 MW anytime when the grid's full demand returned.
Full load grid demand was expected in an another hour, the official said. The demand in the West Bengal region, except Kolkata and Howrah, is met by WBPDCL generation.
DVC director (commercial) P K Chowdury said the Damaodar Valley Corporation was already generating 2400 MW out of 2800 MW.
"We are providing full load to all our consumers and there are no restrictions," he said.
Railways and industrial consumers in the eastern region are heavily depended on DVC.
