Bengal's ind growth rate double the national average: Mamata

Dismissing allegations that her government has not done enough for industry, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said the state's industrial growth rate is twice the national average.
"Who said (that)? Our industrial growth has doubled. If you see the national average, our industrial growth has doubled", Banerjee replied when asked about reported Planning Commission observation that the state has not done enough for the industrial growth.
Planning Commission also denied such allegations as quoted in the media report. Minister of State for Planning Rajeev Shukla who jointly addressed the press briefing, said, "Nobody has said that from Planning Commission."
Banerjee said,"India's industrial growth rate in 2012-13 is 3.12 per cent and ours is 6.24 per cent which is double. India's service sector growth rate (2012-13) 6.59 per cent and ours is 9.48 per cent. Are you satisfied?"
"India's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth in 2012-13 is 4.96 per cent and ours is 7.6 per cent. The growth in agriculture and allied sector in 2012-13, national average is 1.79 per cent and ours is 2.56 per cent," she said.
