Bengal sets up task force on tourism

West Bengal government today set up a task force having representation from the central and state governments and other stakeholders in the tourism industry to prepare a comprehensive roadmap to develop tourist spots in the state.
"It was a wonderful interactive session where almost all the airlines expressed interest to increase flight frequency or begin new operations or touch new destinations out of Kolkata," Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a Facebook post after a high-level meeting.
Besides Banerjee, officials of the Civil Aviation, DGCA, Airport Authority of India, representatives of major domestic and international airlines, hotels and tour operators, chambers of commerce and government officials attended the meeting to discuss promotion of tourism and operation of more flights out of Kolkata Airport.
