Table toppers Bengaluru FC are set to continue with their successful play-offs as they face bottom-placed Rangdajied United FC at the J N Stadium here tomorrow.
The home team which suffered badly ending the first session campaign with mere 12 points from 16 matches also began their second session with two away losses in Goa.
However, the match against Bengaluru tomorrow is different with the home team looking forward to use their trump card in their bid to improve standing in the table.
New coach Herring Shangpliang, who formally replaced Santosh Kashyap for the team was formally looking ahead at securing three points for his maiden appearance as head coach of the team. So was Ranti Martins who had recently moved in on loan as Rangdajied's main striker.
The AFC pro-licence holder from Meghalaya has a lot to do with Rangdajied FC tomorrow as football fans and critics would be keeping a close watch at how the team performs under his leadership.
"We did not play badly but it was just that we did not convert the chances that came our way," Rangdajied FC captain Eugeneson Lyngdoh said.
He said the whole team was looking forward to tomorrow's match as Martins and Shangpliang were doing "exceptionally well" in motivating the rest of the squad.
"He is a good motivator. We expect there will be a lot of surprises for the team and that is good news as it will mean a lot of changes in our placement," Lyngdoh said.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC was not very comfortable for tomorrow's match as they were held to a 1-1 draw during the Federation Cup and recently where they were held at home by Mumbai FC.
"We will go all out as we aim for full three points. However, with Ranti Martins on their attacking front, there will be some pressure on the team," Bengaluru FC coach Ashley Westwood said.
Bengaluru skipper Sunil Chettri expressed confidence that his team was not under pressure and said he and his boys would give their all for a win.
