In a recent interview with Spanish radio station Rac1 (via Star Wars Episode 7 News), Del Toro talked about the possibility of appearing in the sequel to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
Del Toro, 48, was asked about his upcoming work schedule. The actor then said that he would be soon working on "Episode VIII" and added information about when the principal photography would commence.
"'Star Wars is coming up, we will see how that turns out. I think we start shooting in March," said Del Toro.
Back in July, Del Toro was reportedly eyed by Lucasfilm and Disney to fill a villainous role.
There have also been rumours about various actresses who are in a contention to be the female lead in "Episode VIII". Among them are "Orphan Black" star Tatiana Maslany, Gina Rodriguez and Olivia Cooke.
