Best AICRIP Centre award for farm varsity here

Paddy Breeding Station of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University here has bagged "best All India Coordinated Rice Improvement Project Centre Award" in Rice Physiology for its overall accomplishment in rice physiology research.
The station was selected for the award, presented during the 49th Annual Rice Group Meeting held at Hyderabad in the first week of this month, from among 14 centres across India, TNAU Vice-Chancellor Dr K Ramasamy said in a release today.
In its different research programmes at the station, several rice geno types have been identified for higher photosynthesis, nitrogen and water use efficiency under varied situation, Ramasamy said.
PBS has released 51 rice varieties, in which CO(R) 50 and Hybrid CORH 4 were identified for National Level cultivation.
