Better amenities to be provided in city

The city corporation would take immediate steps to construct footpaths wherever they are lacking and several circles in the city would be developed in a scientific manner, Mayor Mahabala Maarla has said.
At a press meet, Maarla gave details on the various developmental programmes chalked out for the city, two months after assuming the office of Mayor of the Mangalore city corporation (MCC).
All the transactions at the MCC office including procedures for tax payment would be computerised. He assured that efforts would be initiated to redress public grievances and ensure basic facilities for a better living.
He said all possible measures would be taken to check the spread of Malaria and action would be taken against the laboratories which fail to report any cases of Malaria detected.

Maarla emphasised the need for development of underground drainage system. He said efforts would be made to see that all houses would have tap water connections.
