The Rajasthan Assembly was today adjourned till 4 pm amid a din after Speaker Kailash Meghwal stopped Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi from giving an explanation on the video purportedly showing him telling a man that he bet Rs 3 crore in the recent bypolls in the state. When the House reassembled around 1.40 pm, opposition MLAs again created an uproar, following which Deputy Speaker Rao Rajendra Singh adjourned the Assembly till 4 pm. Earlier, during the question hour, Govind Dotasara said that Dudi be allowed to give explanation on the betting issue. Question Hour progressed as the speaker assured members of the opposition that he will allow Dudi to speak on the issue during Zero Hour. As soon as Zero Hour started, Meghwal asked the legislators to maintain the dignity of the House and allowed Dudi to give explanation on the betting issue. But when Dudi said the betting issue was raised in the House by the ruling BJP without prior notice and started raising other issues, the speaker said that he would not give the leader of opposition further time to speak. Meghwal continued with the proceedings of the House even as the opposition members raised slogans over Dudi being stopped from giving explanation. Following this, all the opposition MLAs trooped into the well of the House and created an uproar. Opposition members raised slogans against Speaker Meghwal. Amid the din, he asked the members of the House to observe silence in respect of the victims of the LPG cylinder blast in Beawar town and then adjourned the House for half-an-hour.
