The 30-year-old singer-actress, who recently gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter, said she hopes her daughter does not concentrate on the superficial aspect of beauty, reported People magazine.
"My biggest thing is to teach Blue not to focus on the aesthetic. It is really about who you are, and the human being, that makes you beautiful," she said.
The "Dreamgirls" star said she feels comfortable without make-up on.
"I have worked really hard on my career and my life. So I make sure I would not be upset if somebody saw me without make-up," she said.
Lopez, who was ranked third on the 100 Greatest Women in Music list of 2012, said she will take time off to focus on her family.
