BGR Energy bags Rs 650-cr worth contracts; shares zoom 6 pc

BGR Energy Systems today said it has recently won two contracts worth Rs 650 crore for setting up water treatment plants.
Following the announcement, shares of the company surged 6.32 per cent to settle at Rs 125.40 apiece on BSE.
The stock settled with gains of 6.32 per cent at Rs 125.25 on the National Stock Exchange.
BGR Energy in a filing to BSE said it has bagged a contract for manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of water treatment plant package for the Krishnapatnam Project of Andhra Pradesh Power Development Corporation Ltd (APPDCL) for the value of Rs 209.50 crore.
Another contract is worth Rs 440 crore from Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewarage Board (CMWSSB) for Tertiary Treatment Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) Plant of 45 MLD capacity at Kodungaiyur, Chennai.
BGR Energy is a major engineering procurment and construction company.
Including this order, BGR Energy carries over an order book of Rs 10,425crore, the filing said.
