Actress Richa Chadda, who would be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-talked about film 'Ram Leela', says the director advised her to be careful with her choice of films.
Directed by Bhansali, 'Ram Leela' is a romance-drama featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film is said to be an adaptation of Shakespeare's epic play 'Romeo Juliet'.
"He is a legendary director... He has worked with big actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, others. He is great at his job. He advised me to be careful with my choices as I am in a good place," Richa told PTI.
"He is a tough task master. But he was gentle towards his actors. He is short-tempered with his assistants and others. Whenever Deepika and I used to act... Do our scenes, he expected magic from us," she said.
Richa's first meeting did not go that well with Bhansali as he was disappointed with the actress.
"I was promoting 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and he wanted to meet me. I was dressed in a western outfit, while he was looking for an Indianised girl. He seemed disappointed initially," Richa said, adding that she was initially sceptical about doing the much-awaited film.

"Later, he expressed his desire that he wanted only me for this role. So, in a way I was confused if I should do the film or not," the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' actress said.
Richa refrained from divulging details about the film, but insisted she is playing a significant role. She only revealed that most of her scenes are with Deepika.
"She is a very talented, incredibly hard working and committed actress. I admire her work," she added.
'Ram Leela', which also features Abhimanyu Shekhar Singh, Shweta Salve and Barkha Bisht Sengupta, is scheduled to release on November 29.
For Richa, it has been a busy year as she has been shooting for 'Ram Leela' and Pooja Bhatt's 'Bad'.
Her other releases in the pipeline are 'Tamanchey', Mira Nair's short film and a romantic project opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh.
