One more accused has been booked under the National Security Act (NSA) in the district in connection with the violence during countrywide protests on April 2 here, a senior official said today.
Arjun, who was in jail, has been booked under the NSA, District Magistrate Rajive Sharma said.
The charge sheet has already been filed against the accused in the case, the DM said, adding he was the second accused booked under the stringent act in connection with the violence.
One person was shot dead and several vehicles were burnt in the district on April 2 during the 'Bharat Bandh' against the "dilution" of the provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
The Supreme Court had on March 20 banned automatic arrests and registration of criminal cases under the Act.
The bandh was called by various Dalit groups and backed by political outfits to demand restoration of the Act to its original form.
