Bharti must stop 'playing hide & seek', cooperate with cops:
Press Trust of India New Delhi Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal today said that AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, who is facing an attempt to murder and domestic violence case, must stop "playing hide and seek" and cooperate with the police in the investigation.
"It is high time, Somnath Bharti must stop playing hide and seek and cooperate with the police. Serious observations against him were made by high court yesterday," Maliwal said.
She further said the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has no role in the matter as her predecessor Barkha Shukla Singh had closed the domestic violence case against Bharti.
"Barkha Shukla Singh has already closed this case in the DCW. That is why the DCW at present doesn't have any role in it, because, it is already pending in court. The court has taken cognizance, the DCW can do little about it," Maliwal said.
Several police teams raided different places across NCR like Faridabad and Gurgaon in lookout of Bharti who faces arrest following the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by Delhi High Court in a case of attempt to murder and domestic violence lodged against him by his estranged wife Lipika Mitra.
