Bhel shares gain nearly 5% on bagging Rs 5,600 cr order

Bhel's scrip rose by nearly 5 per cent today after the power equipment maker bagged an order worth Rs 5,600 crore for 1,600 MW power plant from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO).
The stock moved up by 4.91 per cent to end at Rs 97.25 on BSE. During the day, it rose sharply by 9.76 per cent to Rs 101.75.
On NSE, shares of the company jumped 4.63 per cent to close at Rs 97.10.
On the volume front, 26 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over one crore shares were traded at NSE during the day.
The company has bagged this order for the coal- based power project with supercritical parameters, involving two units of India's highest rating 800 MW sets, Bhel had said in a press release yesterday.
Valued at around Rs 5,600 crore, the order for the main plant package for the greenfield 2x800 MW Uppur Supercritical Thermal Power Project, located in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, has been placed on Bhel by TANGEDCO.
