BHEL to set up Yadadri thermal power plant at Rs 17,950 cr

State-run equipment maker BHEL will set up 4,000-MW thermal power plant of Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO) at Yadadri for Rs 17,950 crore.
"As part of the 6000 MW MoU signed between TSGENCO and BHEL, the price for the 5X800 MW Yadadri TPS (on EPC Basis) has been finalised between TSGENCO and BHEL on June 1, 2015 at Hyderabad... The order value for BHEL for this project will be Rs 17,950 crore," BHEL said in a BSE filing today.
According to the statement, TSGENCO is expected to issue the Letter of Intent (LoI) for this 4,000 MW thermal power station shortly.
Earlier this year, TSGENCO had entered into an MoU with BHEL for construction of new thermal power plants totaling to 6,000 MW in the state in the next three years to meet the increasing demand for power.
In January, BHEL had bagged a Rs 3,810 crore contract from TSGENCO for setting up 800 MW supercritical thermal power plant on EPC (engineering, procurement & construction) basis at Kothagudem in Khammam District of Telangana.
